Wilkin County Public Health and Otter Tail County Public Health operate as part of the Prairie Lakes Community Health Board. As part of the community health board, Ottertail County Environmental Services manages the food, pools, and lodging program, which helps ensure that certain businesses operate safely. This includes:
- Restaurants and other food and beverage establishments
- Lodging facilities such as hotels and motels
- Manufactured/mobile home parks and recreational parks
- Processing food-related license applications
Additional services provided by Otter Tail Environmental Services include:
- Issuing licenses for regulated businesses
- Investigating disease outbreaks that may be connected to regulated establishments
