Junior Envirothon

Area I hosted a Junior Envirothon for students in grades 6-8. The competition is modeled after and is designed to help younger students prepare for the Senior Envirothon.

Students from St. Mary’s Catholic School, Rothsay, Underwood, Lake Park Audubon, Kennedy Secondary, Underwood, and Waubun schools participated in this event at Detroit Mountain Recreation Area-Detroit Lakes on September 30th.    The learning stations this year were Roots & Resilience: Fostering Forest Stewardship in a Canopy of Change, Aquatics and Wetlands, Wildlife, Forestry, and Soils.

With 34 teams competing, trophies were presented to the 3 teams with the highest scores which were Holy Rosary Team 6, Waubun Team 24, and Holy Rosary Team 7.  Congratulations to you all!!
