Public Health Emergency Preparedness helps keep our community safe before, during, and after emergencies such as natural disasters, disease outbreaks, or other public health threat

  • Prepares for natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and other public health threats
  • Works with local partners to plan, train, and respond quickly
  • Ensures essential services continue during emergencies
  • Supports individuals and families in staying safe and healthy
  • Helps communities recover after emergencies
  • Promotes community resilience through education and preparedness programs
  • Coordinates resources and services to meet the needs of vulnerable populations

Federal funds are granted to Local and Tribal Health Departments for the planning, preparedness and response activities.
