Death Certificates
Death certificates are available for anyone who died in Minnesota from 1997-present. If the death occurred prior to 1997, certificates may be obtained in the county where the death occurred or from the MN Department of Health.
An individual must be eligible to obtain a death certificate.
Death Certificate Fee Information
1 Certified or Non-Certified Copy - $13.00
Each additional copy of the same certified record purchased at
the same time - $6.00.
- Make your check or money order payable to the Wilkin County Auditor-Treasurer
- Credit card payments will incur a 2.5% service charge.
- Fees are non-refundable, as per Minnesota Statutes, section 144.226.

Instructions for ordering Death Certificate:
- Print and complete the Death Certificate Application form.
- For a certified death certificate have your signature notarized. Non-certified copies do not require notarization.
- Mail applications and payment to:
