The upcoming Early Filing Period for primary possible offices will begin May 19th. Potential candidates will need to file with their respective filing office by 5:00pm on Tuesday, June 2nd.

Primary Election - August 11th, 2026

Last day to update voter registration is July 21st. Any updating of voter registration during the period between then and the election will need to be done via an Election Day Registration (EDR)

General Election - November 3rd, 2026

Wilkin County residents can now vote in person at the Wilkin County Auditor/Treasurer's office ahead of election day.

Similar to Absentee Voting, you will fill out a certificate to early vote, be issued a ballot, fill out your ballot and place in a tabulator

If you are not registered, you will be required to fill out and Election Day Registration form, provide proof of residency and complete an Early Voting Certificate

Hour of operation are Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm and Friday 8:00am-12:00pm

Additional hours are Saturday, August 8th from 9:00am-3:00pm and Monday August 10th we will be open until 5:00pm

*If you live in a Mail Ballot precinct, you may drop off your ballot that was mailed to you, or you can have that ballot spoiled and be issued a new ballot to vote in person

*If you live in a Mail Ballot Precinct, and plan to come on election day. Please be sure your Signature Envelope is filled out completely

*Early Voting via tabulator ends the day before the election on August 10th. On election day, August 11th, you will still be voting via envelopes
